you can learn php

and you should because it's a great place to start your coding journey.

it will also allow you to create sites of your own with the language that powers vastly more of the web than any other -- including wikipedia, facebook and wordpress.

start at the beginning and do as many of the assignments at the ends of the sections as you find helpful.

don't use ai.

the concepts are separated into manageable pieces so you don't get lost along the way. each section you load tells you how long it is right at the top so you know what to expect. the reading times are only for how long it might take to read it out loud, not how long it should take to learn what's inside.

remember, you're learning a new language. give yourself lots of flexibility because it's a completely different way of thinking than you're probably used to.

php is a great language to start with but it's not perfect. there are lots of idiosyncrasies and oddities so don't get discouraged if something doesn't appear obvious right away. like anything worth learning, this will take lots of practice before you feel comfortable if you've never written code before.

there are no shortcuts to learning but there are better ways to do it. having taught this for decades, i've discovered the order things are taught in most available courses is bizarre and they focus on outdated procedures and lots of theory.

this isn't a theoretical exercise. follow along and you'll learn the skills in a logical order that will let you have sensible foundations to build one on top of another. there are no big jumps in difficulty from one concept to the next and you'll be surprised how easy things are to understand, even if it takes a lot of practice to master them when you try to write them yourself. understanding is half the battle.

the other half just takes some time and effort.

good luck.
